New Year, Same You... But Better!


The New Year is the perfect time to start a new skincare routine. Here are some simple steps you can take to simplify your skincare regimen and make it easier to follow.



Simplify your routine. Clean up your makeup and skincare cabinet and discard of expired products. If you have more than one or two types of cleanser, toner, moisturizer or exfoliator, choose just one to use and ditch the rest. You don’t need 10 different products for different purposes – one will do!


Challenge yourself to follow your skincare schedule for 14 days. It takes three weeks for a new habit to become routine, so if you want to stick with something long term, it helps if you start now!




Make sure your skin is clean before applying makeup. This is especially important if you wear waterproof mascara because it can trap oil on the surface of your lashes and cause clumping or smearing when applied over oily skin (i.e., when there is no leftover makeup residue).




Cleanse twice daily – once in the morning and once at night – even if you wear no makeup during the day.




Drink plenty of water every day to keep your skin glowing, and don't forget sunscreen—wearing it in winter will help prevent skin damage.
